What a beautiful day today is turning out to be. Thankfully I don’t have a whole lot of work that needs to be done inside today so I plan on spending quite a bit of time outdoors. My car needs a good cleaning and I’m going to try to start cleaning up the yard as well. Now, don’t get me wrong, I do have a lot of work that *could* be done today. But… with all this nice weather, I think I’m going to let the housework slide and do some things outside. The housework really can wait for another day when I’m not so tempted to step outside.

Now that both my husband and I have filed our taxes, we both have discovered that we are both getting a tax refund. So over the weekend we started to discuss what we would do with this extra money. I wanted to check out some contemporary sofas and other furniture, but he wants to take this money and put it back into our home. We have received news that our trailer park has been sold, so we aren’t real sure if we are going to end up selling this home sooner rather than later. I think though we have decided just to put this extra cash in the bank and sit on it for a while. You just don’t know when this money will come in handy. So for now, no new purchases or new renovations for us.

My two kids are in for a major surprise this weekend. They are both going to be spending a lot of time in their rooms cleaning them. They have tons and tons of old and broken toys that they both need to go through and I’m also going to get them to go through their dressers. I’m seriously getting tired of having to do all the housework myself and have decided that these two are going to have to start helping me out a little bit. Maybe if I keep them busy all weekend cleaning their rooms, they won’t have quite so much time on their hands to fight. So it’s a win… win situation for me.

Well it’s that time of year again. The time the tax man rolls around. Well yesterday I did both mine and my husband’s taxes and I am extremely happy to report that we are both getting a refund! Yay! Now what to do with all this money??? LoL Oh… don’t worry, it’s already spent. We both have to pay our car insurance for the year and we also need the extra money to finish our renovations. So although we are getting this extra cash, we really won’t have a whole lot left over. But…. at least we are both getting refunds and not owing in this year!

Honestly it seems like our weather people just can’t seem to get it right. Lately when they’ve been calling for snow, we don’t get it and when they don’t call for snow, we get it. Well today we were supposed to get some rain and a lot of wind. Well as I sit here typing this post, it is snowing a blizzard out there. It’s great weather for the 24 hour towing companies, but not so great for the folks who had to go to work today. Oh well, hopefully we only have a couple of weeks to a month before spring arrives. Man… I hate this type of weather.

So both kids are now home on March break. And if this past weekend was any indication of what I’m going to be in for this upcoming week, then I honestly want no part of it. The kids spent the entire weekend fighting and they still have seven weeks on their break. This is why I absolutely hate it when they have any amount of time off from school. You would think, that they would just be happy to have a little break from school and spend this time playing and relaxing. But nope, it’s much more fun for them to fight and drive me nuts. I’ll be sure to let you all know how my week is going later on in the week. But, I don’t think I’m going to be posting that this has been a great week.

Earlier this morning I was surfing the net and came across a site that sells allergy mattress covers. I had never heard tell of this concept before and have to tell you all that I am seriously thinking about purchasing one of these. You wouldn’t believe the amount of allergies I have and I really think a product like this would benefit me greatly. I think I’ll purchase one and see how I like it. If it agrees with me, then I will probably purchase one each for the kid’s beds as well. It can’t hurt right?

So this was the first weekend that I didn’t have to work outside the home. It was nice, sort of. Instead of working outside the home all weekend, I spent the entire weekend on my computer. Yes, I’m talking four, ten hour days. Honestly if I never see the words NC health insurance again, it’s going to be too soon.

To replace the income I will lose by not working at my outside job on the weekends, I picked up some extra work on the Internet. Well this past weekend anyway, I picked up way…. to much work. I barely had time to do anything else. So now I really do have to find a happy medium with working from home and earning a little bit of extra money. I really have to find a better balance so I can at least spend some time with my family on the weekends and not spend all my days sitting in front of my computer.
