The lowdown on Oysters

Stop me if you’ve ever heard this one. Two oysters walked into a bar. The bigger oyster asked the bartender for a wine, the bartender complied. The smaller oyster asked for a wine, the bartender carded him. When the smaller one asked why he didn’t card the bigger oyster, the bartender replied “He goes better with wine”. Stupid eh?! But, you get the point.
My daughter is turning into a little me. She is only 9, but is already displaying her love for Gulf oysters and other seafood. One thing that she is not like me about, is she really has no concerns about any ill affects that may happen if she eats oysters that are raw or undercooked. Now eating these undercooked oysters doesn’t necessarily mean that you will suffer a serious illness or disease, but if you are at risk, then you need to be careful. You can learn all about the affects of eating undercooked or raw oysters at the Oyster Aware website. This website discusses all aspects about oysters, the different ways in which you can discover if your at risk and they also list some very delicious looking recipes as well.

Ha Ha Ha How cute. Great joke, Kim!!! I love smoked oysters and fried oysters. But I haven’t had any in a long time. Reading this post makes me want some right now. By the way, I have tagged you for a meme. I received my first one yesterday and I just finished writing it. It was very time consuming but lots of fun. So, go check out my blog and get it.
