Checking out life with Kim

Archive for April, 2008

Last week both kids came home from school with permission slips to go on a field trip.  Not only did I need to sign the papers to say that they could go, but I also checked off that I would drive both kids to the field trip as well.  I figured since both classes were [...]

Stolen monkey

Earlier this week I was horrified to hear that some stupid ***hole stole a valuable prize monkey from our local zoo.  Not only was this bad because this little monkey was just a baby, only three pounds and sick, but this particular monkey was on loan to our zoo from another zoo.  The father of this [...]

Musical Festival– Huge Success!

Finally the day arrived that my daughter has been waiting for since she first started playing the violin.  Today was their musical festival day and competition.  There were a lot of schools represented at this event and over 115 children were performing.  The kids worked really hard this past year on learning the violin and [...]

Fiddle-a-thon

This morning at 8:00 am my daughter and I headed out the door for her to attend her first fiddle-a-thon.  For the past month she has been getting pledges to play for 200 minutes.  All the money that was collected for this event is going towards their school’s string program.
I have to say that this [...]

Busy weekend strait a head

I would love it if I could get just one weekend to sit back and relax and do nothing, but this just doesn’t seem to be the way my life goes.  We have another busy weekend a head of us.  On Saturday Kara has her fiddle-a-thon.  I have to be at the middle school by [...]

This time of year always brings back fond memories.  Yesterday was the first day of fishing season and this was one of the days that my dad used to look forward to every year.  He always said that the first day of fishing season and the first day of hunting season should be declared a [...]

I broke my dryer

On Friday I was doing laundry, just like I do every other day of the week.  When the clothes were finished washing I threw them in the dryer and walked away.  A half an hour later I went back to check on them and they were still wet.  This has happened before if I have [...]

I have posted before about my husband and his troubles with his boss at work.  He has gotten into a couple of really heated arguments with him over the past month, but I think the worst is over.
Our daughter has a violin competition coming up on April 23 and because it’s in the city I [...]

If you use entrecard and are a regular dropper on my site, then you are aware of a routine that I have been trying to do for the past couple of months. Each week I like to do a post to thank the top droppers on my site. But, I found this experience to be [...]
