What’s for supper??

I would have to say that the time of day that I look the least forward to (besides getting out of bed in the morning) would be supper time. Every night it’s the same old question. Mom, what’s for supper? And every night it’s the same old answer. I don’t know. I’ll know when I make it. I seriously do envy those moms that know from day to day what they are going to feed their family come meal time. Me, I never know. And because I’m not a cook, it’s usually the same old boring meals.
Actually I am quite lucky that my husband and my kids are pretty easy to get along with as far as meal times go. They will pretty much eat anything I place in front of them. This is good for me as I don’t have to listen to a whole lot of complaining when their staring at the same meal again and again. So after a night of the same old question, I have come to the decision that I really need to learn to cook and start making different types of meals for them to enjoy. I’ll even go a step further and vow to create a weekly meal plan at the first of the week so I know well in advance what we will be eating and “what’s for supper”.

Hola Kim. Thanks for advertising your Entrecard on Web Directory. Really appreciate it very much.
Fyi, I would anything what my beloved wife cook for me. WIth a little compliments you can see her face beaming with happiness. A sight worth more than anything.
Greetings and lots of love from Malaysia.
I have the same problem, it’s so boring having to cook all the time.
Now though, my kids are all away and it’s not so bad.. but still, when they are back… ughhh…
I hate deciding what is for dinner. I think it is genetic. As soon as we got old enough to ask what’s for dinner my mom started having us make out a menu for the week. She would give us a list of options that fit the family budget. We would then make out the menu and one of our chores was to pull out anything that needed to be defrosted. I do this for my husband now.
This is a tough area I think. There are times that I get in a rut and do not want to cook. I cook quite often but there are days when I just want take out. I do make a weekly meal plan and this helps a lot. I use a site called Meals Matter and it is easy and very helpful to use. I make my menu plan, print it out, and can even make my shopping list as I go. The site also includes some simple recipes that we have really enjoyed. Check it out. i really think it could be helpful to you.
I try to plan ahead, but it usually only lasts a day or two before I fall off the planning band wagon. My best friend is my crock pot, but I’m not good at planning ahead to use it!
