My memory is not the greatest

I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older or what, but I certainly don’t have a great memory like I did years ago. I’ve never had a great long term memory, but my short term memory used to be pretty adequate. Now I find myself re-thinking everything. I realize that as the older a person gets, the more memory loss they have, but having just turned 40, I think this probably shouldn’t be happening to me right now. Right now this problem that I’m having isn’t serious, it’s just quite annoying. If I’m this bad at 40, I shudder to think what 50 will bring me.

I make notes of where I keep my notes. LOL
It’s a sad time when our memory starts to fail, but best to get in the habit of writing things down. If I don’t write it down, I don’t remember 90% of the time.
I read that rearranging things and breaking out of a rut helps increase memory. Every so often I rearrange things on my desk, just so my mind has to think where it is. Not walking the same routes is also something I do.
