I still live with my folks (hey I am only 22) in a small terrace house and we use every single inch of space, and when people start giving you furniture you wonder where it will go. When I had to clear out my dad's house, I would have liked to have kept more of his stuff but just couldn't possibly fit in any more furniture. It is hard to get rid of things given to you, but it is hard to object if you slowly give away those things you don't need to charity. Not all at once, but in pieces.
