Major cleaning spree

In three weeks my children will be headed back to school. So at that time I plan to do a major cleaning spree of this house. And the first two rooms I plan to tackle will be the kid’s bedrooms. They have so many toys, stuffed animals, and children’s books that they don’t use anymore that I am sure someone else can get great use out of. The reason why I’m waiting until after they return to school is because if I try to do it now, they will claim that they absolutely need everything that I’m trying to get rid of. I did this before with them home and they spent more time unpacking the boxes than I did packing them. This way if they don’t see what I put in the boxes they won’t know what their missing. So they get to keep all their stuff for the next three weeks and then look out. Momma is going to clean.

Oh my, you’re actually going to throw away their stuff without checking with them first! I would be so mad if someone did that to me–especially my stuffed animals! Perhaps you could just tell them to throw away a certain reasonable portion of their stuff but let them pick what gets tossed. Just a suggestion.
It was always a crying fest when we went through things to give to Goodwill.
OOOh poor kiddlywinks. Haha but I do know the feeling. I am 22 and even when I do cleanouts I stand there looking at the stuff I am getting rid of and think numerous times about it LOL.
I wish your kids a great three weeks with all their stuff HAHA.

I kept telling myself I was going to clean my house out (and the garage) this weekend. Of course it didn’t get done, so I think I am going to aim for 3 weeks when the kids go back to school. I am willing to bet I will be able to get rid of a lot more without them watching my every move!
LOL my mom used to do the same thing to my brother and me when we were kids. I’m lucky that my little guy is still to young to know that his toys disappear the garage every couple of months. Have fun cleaning if you can
