Treatments for acne

When is a child old enough to start treatments for acne? My daughter just turned 10 but has started getting acne. Now she doesn’t have a whole lot yet, but the little bit of acne that she does have is really starting to bother her. She has seen commercials on TV about acne treatment and has been bugging me to purchase her some. Now I think that a 10 year old is really too young for treatments and have been able to put her off so far. But I am wondering at what age would be appropriate. I guess I’ll just to just keep putting her until (hopefully not) this situation gets out of control.
My 12 yo keeps getting pimples under her nose. I gave her some gentle Olay face wash to use and told her to wash with it every day. So far, I think it’s helping.
I used to have acne problems. Thanks God I went to a very good dermatologist. Now my problem is back. I don’t know how I cal deal with this here in US of A. It’s so complicated if you want to get an appointment. I hate going through all those chechebureche before finally seeing a good dermatologist here.
In my opinion, your daughter isn’t too young to starting taking care of her skin. You may want to check out this website http://www.acne.org/. It is loaded with helpful information and you can buy the treatment products at any drug store (a lot cheaper than buying Proactive etc.). My son has problems with acne too but now that he’s treating his acne, it’s a lot better.
