Searching for a new job
Sep 7th, 2008 by Kim
We received a bit of bad news on Friday. My husband’s employer is looking at cut backs. Hopefully he won’t be one of the employee affected, but in this day and age you never know. So he is preparing to look for another job just in case. He went online yesterday on the government job bank. And after viewing all the job descriptions on their site, there was really only two jobs that he was qualified for. This is pretty scary. As he is the only one working in our household, he really needs to keep this job or find another one real quick. Hopefully these cutbacks don’t affect him, but until we find out if it does we will keep searching the job banks just in case.
Do not worry. Please keep looking just in case.you will be fine
We are in the same boat. They just laid off 25% of my hubby’s work force at his place. Hopefully he will get to stay too.
I do have a home based business that cover some, not all, of our stuff if that should happen. Guess I better step it up just in case!
Best of luck to your situation. Nothing wrong with looking and keeping an eye open. That’s the smart thing to do.
Oh! That can be very scary. I certainly hope the cut backs don’t effect him and that he keeps his job.
I feel your pain. It is scary and it is discouraging when you are job hunting and there is little out there. I am in that boat as well.
Hopefully things will go well for you both!

I hope everything works out for the best.
Yes, this economy is extremely frightening! I will put you in my prayers. I know that all will work out for you in the end. Keep all your options open…No harm in looking.
You might consider the Search Firms. The time to find a new job is when you still have one, that is for certain. Also, Temp firms are a possibility, as many, many companies are now using the Temp firms as a way to “try out” an employee and these can end up as full time positions. Good Luck.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you both the economy is not good any where. I have family that lives in Florida and things are not good there.
gosh I hope he doesnt lose his job, especially since he is teh bread winner. but no matter what don’t lose hope, and if the worst happens he can even take a job he believes he is better rather than not having any. i wish your family the best.
