I only saw that show a couple times but was also surprised at how difficult some of the questions were. I teach 5th grade boys in Sunday School and they are very smart. It does seem that they have to learn more than I did at that age.

Hi,

You’re 100% correct. Current 5th grade student require more brain than ours during that time.

My daughter, who is in 5th Grade asked me a question- Can you use the word “because” without comma and full stop three times in a sentence? I blinked. She answered- “No sentence begins with because because because is a conjunction”.

You know it is funny you mention this, I have been watching “Are you smarter than a fifth grader” on Channel 10 here in Australia at the moment. I have to say I agree, some of the stuff that comes out in the questions that they are expected to know (and that the fifth graders can actually answer) is really wicked.

Ahh thank goodness school is over *breaths a sigh of relief*.
