An extra kid in the house
Oct 15th, 2008 by Kim
Here I sit trying (and that’s putting it mildly) to type on my computer. I have so much work to do, but I also have an extra kid in the house. Let me tell you that I thought two kids were bad. Well it’s nothing compared to three. Now don’t get me wrong, the extra kid isn’t bad….just VERY LOUD. Then you have my youngest son showing off for her so he’s quite loud as well. Then you have my daughter yapping at my son to calm down so she is loud as well. Well I’m sure you all get the picture here now don’t you?? It’s loud and I now have a headache. As soon as my husband gets home from work, I’m going to try to talk him into driving the extra one home. Then maybe I’ll be able to get a little work done and it won’t be so loud in here. If my head can survive until then.
You poor thing. Kids get excited and loud don’t they? I hope she went home soon after you wrote your post.
I hope you didn’t have to deal with all that noise for too much longer! My blood pressure goes up anytime my daughter has friends over. I’m not used to all that activity and noise!
I have a suggestion for you that will make the noise bearable and not seem so bad at all. “Ever hear the saying, If you can’t beat them, join them”? Make some noise of your own and it won’t bother you so much. After all, it’s not like they are hurting anything, right? It’s just noise. Maybe you could put some music on that you like.
Go to your ‘happy place’ and blank out all the noise around you.Just concentrate on your laptop display and forget there’s anyone in the room.
Dunno if it works on everyone, but I use this when my little nephews come over and I’m struggling with some complex code.
cheers

Oh brother do I ever get the picture. I just spent 5 months with my youngest up in Maine and she has four boys ranging in age from 15 to the newest born in May.
I had to simply walk away from my blog. I couldn’t get anything done. I think I made 2 posts the entire time.
Good Luck..I feel for you!:-)
Kids are loud. I used to watch the boys and their friends make the chandler shake! Loud has some advantages. You have to wonder what they are up to if things get too quite.
