Beautiful goodbye

Sunday night I was in tears and now I’m going to tell you why.
Well most of you know by now that I was employed for almost seven years as an assistant manager at a very busy family restaurant. Then about a year and a half ago I had to leave as I didn’t have a babysitter any longer. Well after I gave my notice the owner of the company and has wife tried everything they could to talk me into staying. But, without a sitter my hands were pretty much tied. About five months after leaving my job the owner of the company passed away very unexpectedly. He has now been gone for a year (a year today actually). Well his widow is having a very difficult time of things and has decided to leave the business.
Well as you all know I went back. Well on Sunday night the widow stopped by to see me just as my shift was ending. She wanted to talk to me to explain why she was leaving. She also wanted to give me gift from her (and her husband) to say thank you for all my service to them for the past few years. When she handed me the gift the tears started coming. She then started telling me what a valuable employee I am (and was) and how much her and her husband adored me.
I’m really going to miss her (and him) and I will treasure the gift she gave me forever. Oh and what was the gift you ask?? Well it is a gorgeous emerald and diamond bracelet. When I opened the gift I cried again. So yes there was lots of tears that night. I really well miss such awesome bosses.
wow! that’s a bitter-sweet memory to keep:) more power to you!
It is so nice that she honored you that way. What a blessing you have been.

wow that’s a really gallant gift, you are lucky to have a boss like them.
You must have been an exceptionally employee! Well done! When I was reading this post, I felt touch. You must have touched the lives of your employer; like the way you touched my heart through this post.
It is difficult to see good bosses (and friends) leave. How nice of her to give you such a lovely gift.
WOW! How sweet and sad at the same time. It’s wonderful to be told how much you’re appreciated. Did she sell the business?
