Pretty great school!

My daughter has been going to her school for six years now and my son has been enrolled for four. And I have to say that this school never ceases to amaze me. Every time I think about how great they are, they go and do something else that just reinforces my thoughts. Like something they did yesterday.
As you all know, my daughter recently got her hair cut. Well yesterday was her first day back to school since she got it cut and she was quite anxious to see what everyone thought of her new look. Well by all the comments and compliments she got, she was definitely noticed. So much in fact that the vice-principal called her down to the office. He wanted to take her picture and put it on the “Me” wall. This wall displays the photos of all the children who have done caring and compassionate acts for their community.
Well because my daughter donated her hair for cancer they considered this a very giving act of kindness. So they took her picture and made her feel special because of what she did. This pleased her a great deal and all she could talk about last night was how happy she was that the teachers and the staff were so proud of her for her gift to the community.
It’s little acts like this that make this school the best school in this district. The only thing I’m sad about is that this is her last year of elementary school so she won’t be attending this school after this year. But on a brighter note, my son will still be going for another two years! Schools don’t have to do these little acts of kindness for the children that are enrolled there, but this school certainly goes above and beyond. And for this, I am extremely happy!
That’s wonderful that the school encourages and promotes community service like that, especially when it wasn’t sponsored by the school. I’m glad your daughter received such nice recognition and was thrilled about it.
That’s such an awesome thing to acknowledge the kids that do things to help others and your daughter certainly deserves to have her picture on that wall!
It is so good to hear she was applauded for her consideration and donation. We hear so much about the bad things in our schools that it is nice to hear that they try to do good things too.
That is so cool, I think I’m going to tell the principal at my kids’ elementary about it.
Great work done by your daughter. She is a girl with a big heart.
Thank you for your love and support, I have some scent-sational awards for you! Have a great weekend.

I am so impressed. As I said last year, your kids are getting such a great education and seem to be growing into wonderful people. Good parenting skills, Kim!!!
I think it’s so nice that your daughter’s school acknowledged her hair donation by putting a photo of her on their caring board. It sounds like a great school! And your daughter sounds like a very caring young lady to donate her hair!
She must be looking nice in new hair cut.
I think it’s good for kids to experience things like this early on. Teaches them there’s more important things in life than just their own wants.
