Starting back up my craft business

Since my paychecks have pretty much evaporated these days I have been wracking my brain coming up with ideas on how to earn extra cash. I have decided to try to revive my craft business once again. A couple of years ago when I was putting effort into it I started to do pretty good. But over the past couple of years it kind of went by the wayside and I stopped creating which meant I stopped making money as well. So since it’s something that I do enjoy I’ve decided to try to put a bigger effort into this project.

The first thing I need to do is to dust off my cedar furniture and take stock of my inventory that I already have in the house. Then I’m going to decide what I want to make to sell. After I have a few items made, I will then concentrate on creating a brand new website to showcase my items. I once again have a purpose in life and am quite excited about getting started. And of course, I’ll keep you all posted on my progress.

Finishing up the handmade gifts

Every year I try to make some handmade gifts for a couple of my friends and some of my family members. And although I got a late start on my creations this year, I am about three quarters done on these special gifts. I try to do something different every year and that is kind of what put me a little off this year. This year I tried to create some unique rubber necklaces for a couple of my friends but they didn’t turn out the way I wanted them so I actually had to start the jewelry over again. Well I decided that I will try this type of jewelry again after Christmas when I have more time to play around with it. So I guess they’ll get a necklace, earring and bracelet set again this year. But I don’t think they will mind.

Scrapbooking again

Last night after work I suddenly got the urge to start scrapbooking again. So… I pulled out my daughter’s scrapbook that I had started a year ago and started to work on it once again. I have only did about half the scrapbook so far so I guess I felt it was time to start working on it and possibly finish it within the next year. Yeah, I know… I’m bad. So I sorted out all her Easter cards, birthday cards and Christmas cards that she has been given over the years. It’s really starting to come along good now. Hopefully I can keep up this momentum and finish this project once and for all.

Crafting once again

I go through little spurts with my crafting hobby. I won’t do much of anything on my crafts for months and then all of a sudden the motivation will hit me to start to create something new and different. Well… that’s what’s happened to me once again. I seen an advertisement in a magazine for custom pins and have now decided that I’m going to try to make some of my own. I guess I’ll have to see how well they turn out before I decide if I’ll try to sell them on my crafting website. But it’s something different to do and once again I am getting excited to get back into the crafting mood again.

Working on my home crafting business

For the past week now I have been steadily working on my home crafting business. I have finished up a lot of projects that have been in the works for months and I have also taken quite a few pictures of the products that I will eventually have for sale. So my next move is to set up a website to showcase and promote all my items. Setting up the website is pretty easy and straightforward. But getting the proper search engine optimization so others can find me is going to be a little tricky. I’m not really computer savvy and tend to blunder my way around the computer. But if this venture is going to work I’m going to have to suck it up and learn how to use SEO properly. Wish me luck, I’m going to need it!

Doing more crafts

So I finally dug out the candle making kit that I purchased a week before Christmas. I have read over the directions and think that this particular craft might be something interesting to do. So… later on today I am going to see if I can’t create some wonderful scented candles. It’s either do this or do some articles on acne products that work so guess which activity I would rather do. If… my candles turn out, I’ll be sure to pop back in here and post some pics. Wish me luck!

New scrapbooking project

So I’ve been getting a little bored with the crafts that I have been doing so I’ve decided to start a new project. I plan on making a scrapbook for each of the kids using recycled Christmas cards. Over the years they have both received quite a few Christmas cards from family and friends and I think this will be a pretty neat way to preserve all their memories. I think I will get them involved in making these scrapbooks as well. Maybe then this project might actually get started and finished.

New craft

So as you all know I do a lot of crafts. Well I’ve decided to try my hand at a different craft. I’ve decided to try my hand at candle making. Over the weekend I purchased a candle making kit and I’m going to see if I can make these candles. If they turn out the way I want them to then I will start advertising them for sale and add them to my list of crafts that I make in my crafting business. So wish me luck and hopefully this craft turns out. I will post some pics once I have a few made.

Quilting once again

I have to say that it’s been a long…. time since I’ve sat at my sewing machine. Well a couple ladies from my work requested that I make them each a quilt so once again I dug out my sewing machine. I forgot how much I enjoyed quilting until I sat down today to start these two quilts. Now that I’ve started once again I’m pretty sure I’ll keep at it. Once I get these two quilts made I think I’ll make a couple of more to try to sell on my brand new crafting website. When I get all these quilts done I’ll be sure to pop back in and update with photos.

Crafting once again

So I usually go in spurts when it comes to my crafting. I will go for a couple of months of not even picking it up and then I will put a power surge on with making my crafts. Well once again I’m back at it. For the past couple of days I have been making a lot of jewelry and even have an order for a custom bracelet, necklace and earring set. In the past I would get depressed because I wasn’t creating as much as I would like, but over the past year I have discovered that when the mood hits me, I can normally get quite a bit done. Well… the mood has hit me once again. So you all know what I’m doing now don’t you?!
