Much needed break

My husband is taking a week’s holidays next week and I have to say that I think he really needs it. He has been so stressed at work lately (I don’t even think any best testosterone creams could help him at this point), that he’s been a royal bear at home and I for one am getting a little tired of it. Even though we don’t plan on going anywhere this week, I think just having this little bit of time off will do him a world of good. Me…. on the other hand, I don’t know how I’ll make out with an entire week of him being home.

Health concerns

Lately my husband hasn’t been feeling very well. But this is a man who normally refuses to step foot in a doctor’s office. Well he must have been really worried as he actually did end up going to the doctor yesterday. So now he has to have a bunch of tests to see if they can figure out what is wrong. Part of his problem is his cholesterol and the doctor has prescribed a cholesterol supplement, but the doctor is sure that this isn’t all that’s wrong with him. Hopefully these tests will show whats wrong with him and we can get him up and running once again.

He would have been 68 today

Today would have been my dad’s 68th birthday if he was still with us. Almost six years ago I lost my dad to lung cancer. I miss him every day but on special days like today I really, really miss him. I can remember years gone by having parties for him and of course a special cake so by not doing all of this on this particular day it really does hit home that he is no longer with us. Later today I plan on visiting his grave site. I guess that’s the only way that him and I will be able to celebrate this day together.

Work frustrations

Lately my husband has been coming home acting like a bear. I KNOW it’s because once again he has gotten frustrated with his job. But, he really won’t do anything about it so I honestly don’t know what he expects me to say or do. This man has been working a lot lately and his health is starting to suffer. I think at this point in time he would rather go to the doctor (hates doctors), and have him use some colon cleanser device on him than to get up to go to work in the mornings. I really don’t know how to help him or what to say, so this situation leaves me frustrated as well. Oh well, hopefully this will soon pass and he will stop acting like a grumpy bear once again.

Working at home

So this was the first weekend that I didn’t have to work outside the home. It was nice, sort of. Instead of working outside the home all weekend, I spent the entire weekend on my computer. Yes, I’m talking four, ten hour days. Honestly if I never see the words NC health insurance again, it’s going to be too soon.

To replace the income I will lose by not working at my outside job on the weekends, I picked up some extra work on the Internet. Well this past weekend anyway, I picked up way…. to much work. I barely had time to do anything else. So now I really do have to find a happy medium with working from home and earning a little bit of extra money. I really have to find a better balance so I can at least spend some time with my family on the weekends and not spend all my days sitting in front of my computer.

Great birthday

Not only was yesterday Valentine’s day, but it was also my husband’s birthday. Now most years he does not look forward to this day, and this year was no exception. So, I didn’t purchase him any anti aging products, as he really wouldn’t have appreciated the joke. But I did buy him a nice present (sort of) that he appreciated even more. I bought him a gift card from his favorite store so he can buy whatever he wants. The kids were on their best behavior and we had a really nice dinner. So even though he wasn’t looking forward to this day, he still had a good day and I’m thankful it’s over for another year.

Weekends off

So I’m slowly working my way out of my job. This past weekend was my final weekend at my outside job. Although I absolutely love my job, I was getting pretty tired of working every weekend, so I decided to give up the weekends (at least for a while), and spend this extra time with my family.

Next weekend we plan on going to our town’s annual town wide flea market. I absolutely love flea markets. Some of the things that people have for sale are quite interesting. The last flea market we went to, we seen a lady selling equestrian apparel. Obviously I didn’t purchase any, but it was still quite interesting to stop and look at all her wares.

So, not only do I get to go to flea markets once again, but I will have the opportunity to do a whole lot of interesting stuff with the family once again. And yes, summer is on it’s way (slowly) so I absolutely need these weekends off to go camping.

So depressed

Mondays always seem to depress me. I work all weekend so when Monday arrives you would think I would be happy. But, that doesn’t happen. Because I work all weekend, nothing gets done around here and I get to face it every Monday morning. Well, I honestly think I’ve had just about enough. With three other’s living here, you would think that they could do something over the weekend, but nope, that’s what mom is for. Well, I’m pretty tired of it. I think maybe I should check out some waikiki hotels and run away for a little while. Maybe then they would learn to do a little bit of housework.

Oh well, it has to get done, so once again I guess it’s up to me. I just wish I didn’t have to face this mess every Monday morning.
