My grandmother’s 90th birthday

My grandmother just celebrated her 90th birthday! Apparently the family had a huge birthday party for her but kind of forgot to invite me. Oh well, you’d think I’d be getting used to this, but seriously it did make me a little mad. Since my dad passed away six years ago, his family kind of forgets that I’m part of the family and doesn’t inform me of any special occasions or celebrations. But I did get her something nice. I went online and purchased her a fruit basket. Since she has everything she could ever want and the site offered many 5 star rated baskets I thought this would make a perfect gift for a 90 year old lady. So at least she knows I remembered her and am thinking of her even if my family has forgotten that I even exist.

On vacation

So here we all are on another week’s vacation. We had planned on taking the kids camping this week but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. The weather has been pretty crappy lately and sitting in a camper trailer in the rain is not my idea of fun. Oh well, we have been doing quite a bit of stuff with the children and they seem to be having fun. But I guess the good news in all this is that since it’s been so not nice outside, we haven’t had to dig out our echo trimmers and do yard work either. Well, we do have five more days of vacation to go so hopefully the end of the week will produce nicer weather and we will all be able to enjoy a little camping time as well.

Enjoying my summer

Well I have made a decision. I have decided that I’m not going to work quite so much on my computer this summer. I really didn’t get to enjoy last summer with the kids as I was tied to my computer for most of the summer and I swore that that wasn’t going to happen again this year. Well it’s not. So over the next couple of weeks I’m going to decide which work to keep and which type of work I’m going to give up for a little while. I normally don’t have a problem picking up extra work so I’m not concerned about not finding more work again when the kids are back in school. It’s just that I want to enjoy a summer vacation with the kids and the family for once.

I am doing a happy dance today!

After 10 long… months of not hearing from my oldest son, I finally heard from him this morning!! I am so happy to know he’s okay and every thing is all right. For the past 10 months I wasn’t even real sure as to where he was living. But now I know where he’s at and that he’s okay. Apparently he was working somewhere where he had absolutely no access to communication. I don’t know if I really believe that, but as long as I know he’s okay, I guess I’m okay with his excuses. But let me tell you all, if he EVER pulls this crap again, he will wish that he hadn’t. So now all we have to do is get our motorhome insurance up to date and then my husband and I and the two little ones will be off to see him.

He might end up walking

My husband has been employed at the same job for over 13 years. For years he has not been happy there but stayed with it because he could put up with or ignore most of the crap. Well that all came to a head yesterday. Some major crap hit the fan yesterday and when he came home from work he was not happy. In all the years he’s been employed there I’ve never heard him say he didn’t want to go back the next day. But that’s what he said last night.

He did in fact go into work this morning and as far as I know is still there. But I honestly don’t think it will take much to set him off today. And if anyone says the wrong thing to him I really think he will end up walking. Time will tell and maybe this might give him the jolt he needs to finally look for something else and get out of that place.

Getting concerned

Well I’m starting to get more than a little concerned about my husband. For the past little while he hasn’t been feeling the best and now for the past two days he’s been home sick from work. I’m not really sure what’s going on at this point, but I don’t think a simple colon cleanse is going to help him out. I have been trying to convince him to go to the doctor. But so far, I’ve had no luck. I really don’t know what else to do about him so I guess at this point all I can do is sit here and worry. I really wish he would go to the doctor and get checked out. It could be something simple and he’s suffering for nothing.

Getting a little concerned

Some of you may not be aware of this fact, but I do in fact have three children. The younger two live at home but my oldest son doesn’t. Three years ago he moved out of province and I haven’t seen him since. Now, normally I do hear from him by e-mail but I haven’t heard tell of this child (he’s 21) in six months. I have been actively looking for him and honestly have no clue as to where he is or what he’s up to. This is driving me insane! I have even contact three police stations to try to help me find him but because he’s over 21 they won’t help me. So… all I can do is constantly e-mail him and hopefully one of these days he’ll respond back. I really don’t know what else to do at this point, but I am really worried.

Thank goodness the weekend is almost here

Man… this has been one long week! On Tuesday I had my youngest son home from school as we had no power for 13 hours. Then he was home sick from school on Wednesday and Thursday. Then my daughter got sick Wednesday night and was home yesterday and today. So by having kids home all week I really haven’t been getting much done. Plus because they’ve both been sick I haven’t been getting a whole lot of sleep either so I’m extremely tired as well. But the weekend is almost here and that will give them both two days to recuperate from their sickness. Hopefully next week is a better week for our entire household.

I’m getting concerned

For the past few months, yes months, my husband hasn’t been feeling well. He has been tired all the time and his stomach has been acting up as well. I honestly thought he was having a reaction to the best weight loss supplement that we found for him. But now I don’t think so. Yesterday he was only at work for an hour and had to come home. His stomach was killing him. It’s gotten to the point now that I’m going to have to insist that he see a doctor and get some test done. He doesn’t want to but at this point I don’t care. He’s got to get better, especially with the Christmas season fast approaching.

Need to find a new doctor

My husband, the kids and I have had the same doctor for years. Even when people all around us were losing their doctor, we felt safe that ours would be around for ever. Well… I just found out that we now do not have a doctor. Our doctor has been diagnosed with Cancer and has given up his practice. So with so many people going without a doctor, I’m not really sure what this is going to mean for our family. All I know is that I have to find a new one real quick. After all, I have two kids that really do need a doctor.
