Almost Christmas

I can’t believe how fast time flies! It seems like only yesterday I was posting all about last years Christmas season. And now here we are again getting ready for the huge holiday season. But I am almost done! I have most of the presents bought, everything wrapped and the house decorated. Now all I have to do is go online and purchase a few more gifts. I was looking at RockyMountainTrail.com north face backpacks online and thought that would make a pretty good present for my son. I still need to purchase some presents for my husband but I can happily post that I am almost ready for Christmas and it’s not even December yet!

And… another storm has come down upon us

So on my last post I informed you all of a surprise storm that we were getting. Well today as I sit here typing this post we are once again getting hit with another major snowstorm. It has been snowing all morning and is not supposed to end until sometime after midnight. I guess the only good thing you can say about this storm is that we had plenty of notice and were able to prepare for it. Both the kids are home from school today because of the snow and I don’t have to go to work today anyway. But my husband is out driving in it and that concerns me a little. But… this is Canada so I guess it’s not unexpected. I just hope it slows down a bit later so my husband can arrive home safely from work. Then after that…. let it snow!

Lots of snow last night

We were supposed to get quite a bit of rain last night, but it ended up coming down in snow. So our driveway and everything outside is now covered in the white stuff. So now instead of thinking about pool heat pumps I’m in the mood for Christmas. There’s only six weeks left until Christmas so seeing this snow really has got me thinking I’ve got to finish the shopping, wrapping and get started on the baking. We do have a santa clause parade coming up tomorrow so all this snow I guess is a good thing. But now that we have it, we really don’t need any more.

Time changes this weekend

It’s a week late this year but time does in fact drop back one hour this weekend. I absolutely love in the fall when it does this. This means I get an extra hour of sleep and don’t seem quite so tired when I have to get up for work on Sunday morning. I’ll still go to bed at the regular time so I can catch the extra hour. The only bad thing is that it gets dark earlier now but it gets lighter out faster in the morning so I guess it kind of balances out.

So folks, don’t forget to turn those clocks back Saturday night and enjoy your extra hour of sleep. I know I will!

Yay! It’s the weekend

Finally it’s Friday. What a long week. It seems the older I get the longer the weeks seem to get. Oh I know, it’s the same time but man time seems to drag on. So what are all your plans for the weekend? We aren’t doing too much of anything around here. Except for some Halloween shopping and a couple hours at work my weekend is pretty much open. You never know what my husband has planned but I’m sure it will be a quite and relaxing weekend around here. Sometimes you need that and I for one am looking forward to a nice, quiet and relaxing weekend.

Fall is definitely here!

Holy smokes when the kids left for school this morning it was only +1 degree outside. Man that’s cold! So I guess fall has arrived and now I have to get ready for it. I have to try to find the kids heavier coats and you can just bet that I will be digging out my heated mattress pad as well. I really don’t mind fall it’s just that last week we had unseasonably warm temps so being hit with this cold all of a sudden really has thrown my system out of wack. But… summer is over and I’ll just have to get used to the colder temps and look forward to a cold… winter.

Searching for a new phone

Next month my husband’s contract on our cell phones is up. So we once again have an excellent opportunity to find an incredible s phone. Neither one of us really needs a new phone but with new makes and models coming out every year, I would love to have a new phone. So over the next couple of weeks I’m going to start doing some major research on cell phones. And hopefully I can find us both ones that we love and can afford. Wish me luck!

Faulty internet connection

Man oh man, it’s days like yesterday and today when I despise technology. For two days now I have been seriously fighting with my internet connection and it’s really starting to get on my nerves. I have been speaking to my internet service provider quite a bit over the last couple of days and apparently my router is cooked. So I’ve been able to set up my internet connection not wireless for now until I get a new router but let me tell you all that it’s a major pain in the a** to do it this way. I think I’d rather be setting up a trailer hitch than to be messing around with all this internet stuff. But, hopefully tomorrow things will be sorted out.
