Another staff meeting

Man I’m getting a little tired of my work. Two weeks ago we had a staff meeting. I didn’t end up going to it so I made a special trip to work to talk to my manager. At that time she explained a few things and I thought we were all good to go. Well apparently not! Tonight we have a meeting for waitresses and I’ve been told that I have to attend. This is so stupid. I don’t know what she could possibly have to say differently than she said two weeks ago. Honestly I’d rather be home writing articles on how to search for information on free dating online at Zyngle.com for a couple of hours than to attend a half hour staff meeting. Oh well, as long as I’m employed there I have to attend. So now you all know what I’ll be doing on my day off.

Work troubles could be over

Well once again I have changed my mind concerning my present employment. The reason for this change of mind is because the situation at work is going to get a lot better in a couple of weeks (fingers crossed). The one employee that I have been having a world of trouble with has given her two weeks notice. She was the reason why I was seriously considering leaving a place where I’ve worked for the past 11 years but if she holds on for the two weeks and does in fact leave, I won’t have to. So I have two weeks of keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn’t change her mind. If she does in fact leave, I’ll stay. If she doesn’t then yes, I’ll still be leaving.

Another job update

It’s funny how things happen. Yesterday after a lot of thought I did actually apply for a couple of jobs online. I sent them my resume and just sat back and started waiting for a phone call. Well something else has happened since then. Later on in the day I happened to have to call my manager on a different matter and we actually got into it over the phone over what’s being going on over the past couple of months. I was able to tell her exactly how I was feeling and she really did listen to me. I think we’ve got this problem worked out. So now I’m just going to wait a little bit to see if things improve there. If they do, I’ll stay. If not, I continue to look for something else because there is one thing I can tell you all…. I’m not going though another two months like I just did. I can’t handle that kind of stress any more and I don’t plan too. So of course I’ll keep you all posted.

Update on job situation

Well only one more week and I will be taking out my resume. I have made the final decision to leave my place of employment after 11 years. It’s really not a decision that I wanted to make but since I haven’t been really happy there lately I decided that this is really something I need to do. I have the resume all done up and ready to go. Now it’s just a matter of me getting out and taking them around to certain places of business. I never thought I’d be in a position to do this. But sometimes I guess change is a good thing. I’ll definitely let you all know how I make out on this new adventure.

The decision has been made!

So after 11 years of being employed at the same restaurant, I have decided that it’s time to move on. I do really like waiting on customers but I have a few issues with the place now and I can’t seem to get past these issues. So instead of making myself and everyone around me miserable and staying at a place where I feel I’m not wanted, I have decided to look for different employment. Now going back to school at my age is really out of the question so looking for jobs like Laboratory Animal Caretaker Jobs really isn’t in the cards for me. But I do have a few places where I’m considering taking in my resume so I’m sure I’ll find something quickly.

Wish me luck and I’ll keep you all posted on my progress.

Horrible shift

I have been employed at the same restaurant for the past 11 years and I’ve got to tell you all about my day yesterday. I went into work for 10:00 in the morning and was supposed to work until 2:00 pm. Well… I ended up going home at 12:30 pm because I had no customers. For the first time in 11 years I worked a shift as a waitress and had absolutely no customers to wait on!! I knew business had slowed down, but I’ve never seen it this bad. This type of thing almost makes me want to invest in some Marcus lab coats and go look for a different type of work. I really hope this situation never comes up again or I honestly I think I will be looking for a new job elsewhere.

Still looking for work

Things at my current job have slowed right down and because I’m a waitress and rely on tips, the money has slowed down quite a bit too. So I have been doing some looking online trying to pick up some extra work to get us through this slow period. I have sent my resume out to a couple of places and am just waiting to hear back. I would love to work for a company writing up baby announcements or things like that, but I’m not really fussy at this point. I do have experience doing transcription, writing articles and blogging so I’m sure something will come up eventually. I just hope it happens soon before the money runs dry.

Busy day online today

Honestly folks I feel as though my computer is a part of my body today. I have been online all day and I still have a couple of more hours of work ahead of me. I still haven’t found some reasonable life insurance online and I still have quite a bit of blogging to do as well. I am on a deadline so all of this stuff has to be finished within the next couple of days. So see…. I am now paying for all my fun while I took time of for vacation. But I think it’s still well worth it, and if I could go back out on vacation even knowing how badly the work piles up, I think I still would.

Possibly giving my notice

Twice now in the past two weeks my husband was really late picking up the children at my work. Matter of fact both nights he was so late that the kids ended up staying for my whole shift. Well that’s not exactly fair to the kids. So now I have to decide if I want to take these kind of chances anymore or just end up leaving. If I could find some extra work writing articles on heroin detox centers and stuff like that, I really wouldn’t mind giving up the outside paycheck. But with no extra work in sight, I’m a little hesitant to give up the paycheck. But… I’ll have to make a decision soon and just deal with things as they happen.

First day of summer

Today is officially the first day of summer and I’ve got to tell you all that the weather is certainly cooperating! It is warm and sunny outside and it’s only nine oclock in the morning. This type of weather certainly makes me not want to sit in my house and write up articles on phenphedrine. If I have these feelings already, what is going to happen to my work schedule for the rest of the summer?? Oh well, hopefully I will still keep up my work and still be able to enjoy a little of the summer as well.
